Customizing Data Display: BigCommerce Development Solutions Elevating UX

Each BigCommerce merchant’s online store is rich with data—both standard and custom—that drives every facet of their website, from backend order details to client-facing product information. However, when this data is rendered on the frontend, the presentation sometimes falls short of the unique requirements of many merchants. This is where custom BigCommerce development becomes essential.

At IntuitSolutions, we specialize in creating tailored solutions that enhance the functionality, appearance, and user experience of BigCommerce stores, ensuring that data is presented exactly as our clients envision. Today, we’ll illustrate our capabilities with two specific examples we’ve recently implemented for clients: custom account form creation and tailored product options display.

Custom Account Form Creation

The Challenge:

The “Create Account” page is crucial for capturing new client information, often requiring both standard and custom data fields essential for business operations. For one of our clients, the default “Create Account” form layout pulled in standard and custom data fields in a manner that did not meet the merchant’s visual presentation standards. Without customization, our client had no control over the organization and appearance of these fields, resulting in a less effective form.

Our Solution:

Using the data available in BigCommerce, our developers designed a custom form solution that provided greater control over the layout and design of the data fields. We organized the form fields to ensure a logical and visually appealing structure tailored the client’s business needs. The result was a fully customized account creation form that met their visual standards and significantly improved the user experience.

Custom Product Options Display

The Challenge:

The product detail page on BigCommerce is a prime example of how, when backend data renders on the frontend, it doesn’t always align with the merchant’s vision. By default in BigCommerce, product options like color swatches display below the product sizes. However, our client wanted the order reversed, with the color swatches shown above the sizes.

Our Solution:

To address this challenge, our developers modified data feeding to the product detail page, ensuring that the colors appeared above the sizes, per the client’s requirements. This customization not only met the client’s aesthetic standards but also enhanced the overall user experience by providing a more intuitive and visually appealing layout.

Other Customization Solutions Using Store Data

In addition to custom forms and product options displays, there are numerous other ways we can help merchants tailor their BigCommerce stores by leveraging standard and custom data to enhance frontend presentations. These include:

  • Checkout page customizations
  • Product search filters
  • Customer account profiles
  • Inventory-related messaging on product pages
  • Custom pricing views
  • Custom product sorting
  • Many more
